Hey! Ganz still und leise hat Paul einen brandneuen Song veröffentlicht :shock: :D Das Projekt nennt sich "ELECTRIC IKEBANA" und ist eine audio-visuelle Zusammenarbeit von Paul und Douglas Coupland.

Der Song heisst "The Quadric Equation”.

Wie gefällt euch der Song? Ich finde, schon nach dem ersten Anhören geht das Ding nicht mehr aus dem Ohr... "X is equal to negative B, plus or minus the squuaaare root" Klingt für mich total 'back to the roots', hoffentlich gibt's sowas in der Art auch auf dem kommenden OMD-Album zu hören.

Vielen Dank, gefällt mir sehr gut. Ich überlege seit Stunden, woher ich die verzerrte Robot-Voice der Dame am Anfang kenne, vor allem das Wort "Information" kommt genau so irgendwo schon mal vor. :roll:

Ja, Paul sollte was singen auf EE, ganz meine Meinung. Und wenn ich mir die Musik so anhöre ist, glaube ich, momentan eher Paul der Bastler bei OMD. Er sollte also auch mehr an Musik beisteuern für's kommende Album.

Jedenfalls geht mir "The Quadric Equation” seit gestern nicht mehr aus dem Ohr. Irgendwie ne Mischung zwischen HOM Part III & IV und ABC Auto Industry. Eine mathematische Formel (wenn's denn eine ist, keine Ahnung - Mathe ungenügend) in ein Kinderlied zu verpacken find ich jedenfalls ganz originell. Kennt die eigentlich jemand? Die erste Zeile müsste heißen "X is equal to negative B, plus or minus the squuaaare root". Wie geht's weiter?

Erstmal vielen Dank an Yogi für die nette Post. In den letzten Wochen hatte ich nur wenig Zeit, darum wäre dieser Song völlig an mir vorbeigegangen.

Zu Hagens Frage:
Die Formel ist die sogenannte Quadratformel
x = (-b +- Wurzel b² -4ac) / 2a
(X is equal to negative B plus or minus the square root of B squared minus 4AC all over two A)

Benutzt wird sie um solche Gleichungen zu lösen wie
ax²+bx+c=0

In England und Amerika ist es sehr beliebt unter Schülern, diese Formel zu lernen, indem man sie zu der Melodie des alten englischen Kinderliedes "Pop! Goes the Weasel" singt - und genau das macht Paul in dem Song. Die Bezeichnung "Music by P. Humphreys" ist also etwas übertrieben, eigentlich müsste es heißen "Traditional, arranged and sung by P. Humphreys". Diese Art von Kinderliedern wird in England übrigens "Nursery Rhyme" genannt - Tanlobster hat also mit der Bezeichnung "Lullaby-Gesang" voll ins Schwarze getroffen.
