Mittlerweile haben wir so viele neue Leute hier im Forum, dass sich dieser "alte Hut" als Thema doch direkt mal wieder anbietet :D

WAS IST EURER MEINUNG NACH DAS BESTE ALBUM, DAS OMD IN DEN 80er-JAHREN VERÖFFENTLICHT HABEN?

Stimmt in der Umfrage ab und schreibt auch hier innerhalb des Beitrags Eure Meinung zum Thema und zu Eurem "Liebling". Interessant wäre es auch mal zu wissen, was

1.) EUER ganz persönliches Lieblingsalbum von OMD der 80er-Jahre ist

2.) Was ihr aus kommerzieller und "künstlerisch wervoller" Sicht für das beste OMD-Album aus dieser Zeit haltet

Natürlich dürfen auch die "alten Hasen" hier teilnehmen :wink:

1) "Junk Culture", "The Pacific Age" und "Troublegum" von Therapy? sind meine drei Lieblingsalben aller Zeiten. Zwischen "Junk Culture" und "Pacific Age" kann ich mich nicht entscheiden, konnte ich noch nie. Weder 1986, noch in 2007. Also wenn's keine Mehrfachstimmen geben darf, enthalte ich mich.

2) Kommerziell und künstlerisch wertvoll: ganz klar "A&M"

Wow,Pacific Age bekommt so viele Stimmen ? Damit hätte ich jetzt garnicht gerechnet weil ich bis jetzt dachte "A&M" währe das führende Album. Habe "Pacific Age" und Best of aber ebenso vorgezogen weil ich mehr auf Mainstream orientierte Musik stehe und die "Best of" das erste war was ich von OMD hatte.

Ohne Frage "Organisation", ein wundervoll melancholisches und düsteres Album, nur Enola Gay will nicht so recht mit raufpassen, dennoch einfach geil das Album.

Als kommerziel wichtigstes Album halte ich Junk Culture, neue Sounds (Fairlight), klasse Hits und beste Pressebeurteilungen.

Ich habe für "A & M" gestimmt, aber es hätte auch jedes andere der ersten 4 Alben bis "Dazzle Ships" sein können. Das Album war damals einfach einzigartig, ob das nun der Sound war oder die Songs. Solche Musik wie OMD hat zu dieser sonst keiner gemacht.

Auf dem Album sind neben meinem Einstieg "Maid Of Orleans" sehr viele andere meiner "All Time Greatest" drauf vertreten, deshalb fiel die Wahl so bei mir aus.

Prädikat "Küntlerisch wertvoll" bekäme bei mir aber "Dazzle Ships", einfach deshalb, weil auf einen kommerziell sicheren, zweiten "A & M"-Aufguss damals verzichtet wurde und "Genetic Engineering" die totale Anti-Single war - vergleicht man sie mal mit ihrem Vorgänger. Sowas hatte niemand erwartet nach solch einem Riesenhit wie MoO.

"Crush" und "The Pacific Age" törnen mich eigentlich nur wenig an, obwohl auch hier einige meiner Lieblingssongs drauf vertreten sind.

.............mh total schwierig- die ersten alben sind wirklich prägnant- und genau der grund warum ich / wir zu OMD - Fans wurden !!!!
ich kann mich echt nicht entscheiden - wobei Dazzle Ships damals wirklich bei mir rauf + runter lief :)

A&M vor Crush.
Die Wahl ist aber auch was Scheixxe schwierig, Organisation, Dazzle Ships und Junk Culture sind auch absolut geile Scheiben.

Außer Konkurrenz ist hier etwas das Best of - Album. An sich könnte man das auch wählen, weil es halt ein supercooles Greatest Hits - Album ist.
Hätte man statt den beiden Maxis darauf die Single-Versionen genommen und als Maxis Talking loud and clear und If you leave draufgepackt, wäre es das perfekte Best of Album alltime geworden.

Trotzdem ist es das Vinyl-/CD - Album, welches ich mir in diesem Leben bisher am meisten reingezogen habe. Mit Abstand.

Nur zu toppen von einem möglichen Best of OMD 2008 - 2018 Album... :lol:
