Nachdem ich vor einigen Tagen mal die Debut-EP von Bloc Party wieder ausgebuddelt habe und nach beinahe zwei oder drei Jahren plötzlich restlos begeistert war,bin ich der Meinung,daß diese Kapelle auch mal ihren eigenen Thread verdient hat.
Hier im Forum wird es außer mir gewiß noch weitere Fans geben.......!

Das Album von 2005 begeisterte mich dann merkwürdigerweise sofort,während ich mir den Nachfolger immer noch erarbeiten muß.Aber die guten Platten,die dann zu Freunden für lange Zeit werden,brauchen ja oft ein Weilchen. :D

Klar gebürt Bloc Party auch hier ein eigener Thread!

Für mich zusammen mit Interpol eine der beständigsten neuen Bands der letzten Jahre, was heißt, daß sie zwei klasse Alben nacheinander fertig gebracht haben. Helicopter ist vom Ersten mein Favorit. Etwas untergegangen, aber nicht minder schön finde ich die Single zwischen beiden Alben , die dann für Spätkäufer es dann doch noch auf's Debüt geschafft hatte.
Die neue Platte hat ungefähr 'ne Woche gebraucht, um mir richtig zu zünden, seitdem läuft bei mir insbesondere Waiting For The 7.18 (hoffe, es wird die nächste Single), aber auch The Prayer nachdem ich mich da eingehört hatte.

Schade nur, ich konnte sie noch nie live sehen. Als Vorband zu Interpol, aber auch dieses Jahr war's immer zu schnell ausverkauft. :cry:

kann man kostenlos und einfach einen anscheinend bislang unveröffentlichten Bloc Party-Song hören und herunterladen. Ist eine Coverversion von Nelly Furtado's "Say It Right"! :D

Btw. ist The Rakes' "We Danced Together" von dort auch sehr empfehlenswert!

Übermorgen, am 21. August erscheint das neue Bloc Party-Album "Intimacy"! :D

Und zwar auf blocparty.com für ca. 7.50 € zum download.

Später - wohl Ende Oktober - gibt es auch noch ne physische CD-VÖ des Albums. Dem Beispiel von Radiohead und dem Wandel der Zeit folgend wohl ein weiterer Sargnagel für die CD... :wink:

Der Haken an der Geschichte ist der Satz auf der Bestellseite: "The CD format will include additional tracks not included in this download" :shock:

Aber da ich altmodisch und konservativ bin und noch etwas zum Betasten und Begucken brauche,gedulde ich mich bis Oktober und gehe zwischendurch bei myspace oder youtube spionieren,wenn die Neugier zu groß wird.... :wink:
