ganz meiner meinung!
die simple minds waren bis zu ihrem überhit "don`t you" wirklich exzellent (diejenigen, die nur die späteren SM kennen, werden überrascht sein wie sie am anfang ihrer karriere klangen!). danach gings bis auf wenige lichtblicke und bis zu ihrem letzten album eigentlich nur noch bergab.
der absolute höhepunkt und auch einer meiner "all-time-favs" ist und bleibt allerdings "new gold dream"! die scheibe bildet sowas wie den logischen abschluss ihrer musikalischen entwicklung bis zu diesem zeitpunkt, danach mutierten sie (leider) zu stadionrockern ...

"New Gold Dream" ist eine absolut geniale Scheibe und wäre sofort unter den zehn Alben,die ich auf eine einsame Insel mitnähme.....! :D
Genauso wie "Sparkle In The Rain"......
Die Alben von 79-81 kann ich leider nicht so recht auseinanderhalten,keine Ahnung weshalb... :? Klingen post-punkig/wavig/experimentell aber gut!

Liebe die lange Version von "Lovesong"!!Schön wavig/monoton..... :D

Was nach "Don`t You" kam,ist ja bekannt...Pathtischer Stadionbreitwandrock für die breite Masse,den der Fan der frühen Sachen nicht unbedingt in seiner Sammlung braucht.

Aber sie sollen ja mit den letzten Alben(oder dem letzten!) wieder an ihren alten Stil erinnern.Habe es bis jetzt noch nicht geschafft mal reinzuhören....Einer von Euch vielleicht???Wäre mal neugierig.....!!

den Popper Jimmy Haarschnitt habe ich noch :D
Nun das letzte Album ist nicht schlecht nach Real Life von 1991 wieder ein Lichtblick.Vor allem Stay Visible ist der beste Track vom neuen Album und die Mixversion von Home.

Ich vermisse eigentlich noch Depeche Mode mit ner Speak And Spell-Tour oder Soft Cell mit Non Stop Erotic Cabaret....... :P
Aber New Gold Dream ist eins meiner absoluten Lieblingsalben überhaupt und wäre somit ne Überlegung wert.

Achsoooo...nur auf der Insel.Aber man weiß ja,was von solchen Versprechen zu halten ist.
