Die Amis werden im Frühjahr mit 16 Konzerten verwöhnt:

Das Motto heißt "Back To The Basics": Band - Publikum - Songs. Also schätze ich mal, es wird auf eine puristische Liveshow ohne die Panasonic Lightshow und Benutzung der hauseigenen P.A. vor Ort hinauslaufen, um Kosten zu sparen. Zumal Andy im Forum ja schon erwähnt hat, dass sich die Tour dort von vornherein nicht rechnen wird. Aber schön, das sie's trotzdem machen, die US-Fans wirds freuen.

Dazu gibt es VIP- und Gold-Packages für 100 - 150 Dollar mit Bandtreff, Soundcheck etc... das gab's bei uns zumindest für umsonst :lol:

Ich hoffe, das die Jungs dort richtig gut ankommen. Mit "If You Leave" im Gepäck dürfte aber auch nichts schief gehen :wink:

Naja,soooo überragend fand ich die Lightshow von Panasonic eh nicht....da gefiel mir die Beleuchtung in den 90ern besser.(Oder war ich jünger und noch leichter zu begeistern?)
Wie dem auch sei,ich hoffe,daß es kein zu großes Loch in den bandeigenen Geldbeutel reißt und das OMD die versprengten Fans im Mutterland des Schweinerocks zeigen,was ne Harke ist und selber auch Spaß dabei haben.

hatte über Facebook auch heute schon den Hinweis zu den OMD-Konzerten in Übersee. Finde ich cool. Hoffentlich spielen die vor ausverkauften Häusern. Wo ist Austin? Da sind ja gleich drei Konzerte geplant.

Perlen vor die Säue.

In den Staaten sind OMD eine One-Hit-Band aus den 80ern, die 1993 ihr letztes müdes Lebenszeichen von sich gegeben hat. "Universal" und "History Of Modern" sind dort völlig unbemerkt geblieben.
Und jetzt sollen die Amis sich (von den tollen "VIP"-Angeboten abgesehen) für 30 bis 35 Dollar Tickets kaufen???
Wahrscheinlich werden unsere Jungs im "House of Blues" im kleinen Saal vor maximal 150 Leuten spielen...

Solange sich die ganze Tour unterm Strich noch
rechnet,kann es nicht schaden mal über
den Teich zu fliegen und wenn man schon ein Visum
hat kann man auch gleich mehrere Gigs spielen :O)

Alles in allem kann man schon fast neidisch werden ein
"Privat Konzert" zu verpassen :D

Ich freu mich total für die Amis.
Ich weis gar nicht, wie lange ich Pat Fetty nun schon kenne (20 Jahre oder länger?), habe ihn 2008 endlich in Liverpool persönlich kennen gelernt.
Und wenn es noch ein paar mehr von seiner Sorte in den Staaten gibt, wird die Tour bestimmt erfolgreich.
Wer sagt denn, dass es nur in Germany solche wie uns gibt? :shock:

Hey, heute geht's los! Der erste US-Gig steht auf dem Programm - Toronto - AUSVERKAUFT!!! Bin mal gespannt wie die Tour insgesamt laufen wird. Wünsch den Jungs jedenfalls viel Erfolg.

Wenn's denn überhaupt zu der Tour wie geplant kommen wird:



ANDY McCLUSKEY: Yep!!!! Sold OUT!!! and we are here and ready to rehearse... hopefully the equipment made it through the USA/Canada border last night.

Even more hopefully... our US work visas get put in our passports and sent to us tomorrow.. or this may turn into a Canadian 2 date tour.!!!!!....

Also: Am Freitag waren die Instrumente noch nicht da und die US Visas zur Arbeitserlaubnis auch noch nicht :o Reduzierung auf eine 2-Tagestour durch Kanada also nicht ausgeschlossen :wink: aber wird schon alles glatt gehen 8)

Das erste Video auf YouTube :D Hey, dem Applaus nach scheinen die Jungs wirklich super gut anzukommen :shock: :D ! Schön :D

PANDORA'S BOX (Toronto):


Recht spartanischer Bühnenaufbau, die Band benutzt die Haus-P.A. und deren Licht, aber das macht das Ganze natürlich auch sehr intim und publikumsnah - "back to the roots" halt.

Jemand hat im UK-Forum geschrieben, das die Jungs bis zum Konzertende ungläubig in's Publikum geschielt haben, weil sie die absolut positive Resonanz so wirklich nicht erwartet hatten :D

Versteh nicht, dass sie "Secret" weiterhin konsequent ignorieren, ist in den USA doch recht bekannt :o Ansonsten keine Überraschungen, von "Radio Waves" (anstelle von "Bunker Soldiers") und "Dreaming" mal abgesehen. Kein "Talking Loud and Clear" und "She's Leving".

Wenn ich das im Sommer/Herbst nicht zu hören bekomme,werfe ich Gegenstände auf die Bühne.

Der Rest des Programms ist ja erwartungsgemäß nicht weiter erwähnenswert,aber schön,daß es unter den Amis einige gibt,die "englische Frisurenbands" mit uncoolen Synthies offensichtlich zu schätzen wissen.
